First Family Fun Run in 2014
Yup, the waiting was finally over. My family (there were 11 of us including the in-laws) plus the families of my company finished the Financial Fitness Run 2014 last Sunday, February 23, 2014. The run was held in BGC and the route went through Buendia, Ayala and Makati Ave. It was my family’s first official run for 2014! Although, my husband is joining runs from here and there, it was our first for this year as a family to run together.

The Financial Fitness Run is the kick-off event of CFA Philippines’ Putting Investors First, a month-long investor awareness campaign. It aims to capitalize on the popularity of this sport in order to generate a broad-based heightened level of awareness for the “investor rights”
My family, my husband and two young boys, started to run since two years ago. Wait, I think it was three years already. LOL. Yes, it’s more than three years already. During those years, we were able to influenced my in-laws, other family members and a lot of friends too.
And guess what? We also influenced our company! And because of this, our Filipino boss promised us that the company will sponsor all the employees a 6 runs per year! Isn’t it wonderful? Not only that, the breakfast after the run is courtesy of our company as well. We had our first company sponsored run last September 2013.
With or without sponsors, my family will see to it that we will join runs. This is so far the only “sports” that all of us can join together. Although, we do play badminton and mountain biking , we haven’t join any competition or any fun games yet as a family.
We enjoy running (and sometimes endure) as a family, no doubt about it. We train together and of course, we eat together after our training and fun runs! We also have fun sharing and bragging our own PR (Personal Record)!
Last Sunday, my husband broke his own record (1.52 for his 21K). Unfortunately, it was my worst for my 10K run at 1:29 because of the pain on my knee and I had a little training for this run.
At any rate, I still enjoyed the run with the company of my family whatever the result of my own PR. Till next run!
